“The way we move is the most accurate measure of our health”

– Dr Mobbs

Our goal is to digitize the human gait signature for the benefit of all. Walking is a fundamental part of living, with a deterioration in how we walk related with poor health outcomes. Gait analysis for pathology detection, disability assessment, and recovery assistance following any intervention, is the primary objective of our group”

The WAGAR group is a world thought leader linking gait, balance, activity, and stability with predictive algorithms for pathology detection, objective health assessment pre and post intervention, and monitoring health outcomes.

Advancing Healthcare Through Research

Delving into an array of studies, our research at WAGAR Group is focused on propelling healthcare forward. Through a wide range of publications, we showcase our dedication to innovative research and the improvement of healthcare outcomes.

The subjective and objective quality of life score (SOQOLTM) for the quantifcation of general health status: a preliminary study with initial normative population values.

Walking orientation randomness metric (WORM) score: pilot study of a novel gait parameter to assess walking stability and discriminate fallers from non-fallers using wearable sensors.

Proposed objective scoring algorithm for clinical evaluation of walking asymmetry in lumbar disc herniation, based on relevant gait metrics from wearable devices: The Gait Symmetry Index (GSiTM) – Observational study.

Our Achievements

WAGAR Group leads in healthcare research, pioneering objective activity monitoring post-spine surgery and analyzing gait patterns for insights into mobility and musculoskeletal health. These achievements exemplify our commitment to innovative research and advancing healthcare standards.

First to Publish on Objective Activity Monitoring Post Spine Surgery

WAGAR Group made history by being the first to publish groundbreaking research on objective activity monitoring following spine surgery. This achievement showcases our commitment to advancing post-operative care and improving patient outcomes.

Analysis of Hip, Knee, and Spine Gait Patterns in Health and in Decline

This scoping review examines how wearable devices are used to monitor postoperative recovery in elective orthopaedic surgeries involving the hip, knee, and spine. By analyzing walking health and mobility metrics, these technologies could enhance patient care, marking a pioneering step in the field of postoperative management.
