This scoping review investigates the current applications of wearable devices and objective gait analysis in monitoring postoperative recovery after hip, knee, and spine surgeries, common elective orthopaedic procedures. It aims to assess walking metrics for postoperative care. Through systematic database searches, studies meeting criteria were included, collecting data on participants, surgery types, wearable devices, sensor locations, and monitoring parameters. The review suggests that wearable monitoring could benefit orthopaedic patients, enhancing postoperative care by assessing walking health and mobility metrics.
